Oh hello LJ.
I just scored some tickets to go to a recording of QI. Yes, that'd be "Quite Interesting" as hosted by Stephen Fry. I shall be queuing a good 4 hours in advance, if not 5 (or, indeed, just camping outside the studio overnight). Silly people who over-book their shows.
In other news, 8 months isn't enough time to have learned how to work properly in an office environment. I have proven this today by doing something pretty dumb. Not catastrophic, but something that made me facepalm after the fact. Hopefully people will cut me some slack for the first 8 - 12 months.
By the way, did I mention I ran 80% of the way home on Monday? A slow but steady 8.5 miles. Took me 1h 38min (including having to stop at traffic lights). I also included 3 walking sections as my knees were protesting. Need to keep the knees appeased. Still, quite pleased. Think I'll keep it here for a few weeks and work on upping my speed. I *should* be able to do that distance in just under 1h 30min. When I've done that, I'll up the mileage again. The ultimate goal is 10.5 miles - all the way home from work. If I can do that, I'm all set up for the duathlon in September.
