Yale Graduation

Graduation Weekend - Early Sunday morning we loaded the car and me, my parents, + grandmother headed down to Yale for the Graduation weekend for my brother, class of 2005. Of course, since our crazy weather in NE. is all messed up, and it seems only to rain on weekends, it was a bit wet. The car ride down was about 2.5 hours, maybe a little less. I entertained myself by watching Peral Harbor (since this time I wasn't distracted by Grace or Kristen balling they're eyes out....or having to leave to ride Fritz). I only got to watch about 1/2 of it though becuase my battery died, and when I tried using the little AC adapted power supply...it blew a fuse. When we got down there, I called Alex (my brother) and we met up with him and 2 college friends (Allyssa + Michael) and went to this Thai resturant for lunch. I didn't really like the place, especially since I'm not a huge fan of Thai food. Anyways, I got spare-ribs which turned out to be pretty good. So after dinner we went to this awards ceremony, becuase Alex had gotten the Beakman Award which is given to a student who has shown musical composition talent. We all thought that his Beakman award would be given @ the thing on Sat. but it turns out it wasn't. So we sat through the entire ceremony in the rain, but it was fun anyways...a bit long. Then we went to go check-in to our hotel room. Becuase my mother and grandmother are horrible sleepers, they need to have their own room's, in new places. So originally our plan was to buy 2 suites, and I'd split one w/ my Grandmother (where I'd sleep on the couch in the kitchen area) and she'd get the master bedroom. And then my parents would do the same thing. We checked into the Candlewood Suites hotel, and to our surprise there was only 1 bed in the room! The hotel people had made a huge mistake and they arranged for us to stay @ another place down the street, where we would get 4 sep. studio rooms. So once we were settled into our rooms, for dinner we went to this Ethiopean place. It was reallly good! This was my 2nd time in an Ethioean residence, but I loved it! The food was great. Around 9ish, we headed back to the apt. and went to bed in our sep. rooms. In the morning, of course I woke up @ 5 and watched "Honey I shrunk the kids" which I have to admit, is a very amusing movie. Around 8ish, we headed back to New Haven and got ready for the graduation. My god was it mobbed! There were at least 2000 people there, and barely enough chairs. We found a place in like the wayy back where you could see the tops of the heads of people. This cermony, unlike the one Sunday was muchh shorter. They handed out a lot of prizes and stuff. Yale is broken up into dif. colleges, to determine where the students sleep/live + eat. Alex is in the JE (Johnathan Edwards) college. So when it came time to actually do the diploma part of the graduation, the entire university split up into thier colleges. This was where Alex was awarded the Beakman Music Prize, and and surprise award called the Freeman...god i forget lol. Anyways it was: - An award given to a senior man or woman that has demonstrated the highest achievement in Yale. Alex got this award, as a gifted young composer earning straight A's in 33/34 classes. The ceremony didn't last too long luckily, and there was food.

So Yaz, that;s about it. I guess I have to take the Physics MCAS 2morrow....joy 2 the world...I'll talk to you guys l8er
