Camping Plot - The Beginning

"Well, this oughta be fun," the new kid on the block commented to himself, looking around. He flexed his wrists in anticipation, getting the final feel for his new suit. "Nothing like a little revenge to really make you feel aliveOf course, the first problem would be getting everyone there, and... he could do that. Turning to face a nearby bank, he ( Read more... )

Taban was sipping a Mocha Latte in the cafe that the vampire jumped off of, and while all around him people were giving in to their emotions, and running around like animals, Taban merely continued sipping his drink. As he finished up, he placed a single dollar bill on the table, and carefully walked through the incoming crowd, creating a minor telekinetic shield to deter anyone from getting too close. It worked quite well, as he walked through in an almost wedgelike way. Whoever had made this disruption could prove useful in plans in the future, but they would have to prove themselves, it was no doubt that the Titans would come to the proverbial "rescue", and it was all a question of whether this particular person was a destructive moron, or perhaps had an ounce of cunning. Either way, they could prove themselves to be very useful in gathering info on the Titans, and dwell into potential weaknesses for each.

He continued walking through, confident and sure of himself straight towards the bank, he would have to get slightly closer to have an effective view of the soon to be battle between the criminal and the Titans. /This should be amusing/ he thought to himself as he brushed himself off, one of the people had brushed against him while fleeing the area, no sense in getting common dust on himself.

See-More was standing in a music store he had been at previously -- months ago. Sure, he didn't like the fact that his first memory involved being knocked unconscious and leading into a very unpleasant kidnapping, but this place was too good to ignore. However his browsing came to a halt when it all started.

He dropped his CD with a surprised yell and winced when he saw the broken case at his feet. "At least the store manager ran off," See-More said with a grin, making a run for it out of the store.

He was planning on just running away before anything else happened... but he was curious. Just what was causing all of this panic? And where did those noises come from? He decided to run off in the opposite direction of where the crowds were coming from.

Why, no, he didn't have dramatic, super hero music playing in his head as he ran.

Gizmo flew up beside See-More, having deployed his backpack's flight equipment. He had been in the proccess of fleeing whatever chaos had just started when he'd spotted See-More.

"Uh... hey, dude, you realize you're running towards that mess, right?"

Ghost was taking advantage of the relative chaos in order to quietly stock up on supplies with a five finger discount. Sometimes, he'd trouble himself to pay for things - usually in the company of others, when he wanted to make a good impression and let his money do the talking. With everyone focused on the chaos, he decided to help himself to a couple of especially nice handguns and a good amount of bullets to go with them.

He'd never followed through on that promise to teach See-More how to shoot yet, and this seemed like as good a time as any to get the necessary supplies. He certainly was not going to share his personal favorite, his PK Wathler, after all.

Leaving the store, he saw Gizmo flying up to See-More.

"I do believe it's curiosity," he remarked. What he didn't mention was his suspicion that See-More probably wanted to see Terra in action, fighting against...well...someone other than them. After all, Ghost couldn't shut his telepathy off all the time.

Jinx, however, had been in the cafe right across the street from the one Taban was at. Because hey, Starbuck cafes were everywhere. Now griping about the frozen mocha thingy that got spilled all over her skirt when some jerk bumped into her, she decided to toss it, thankful for wearing leggings underneath instead of tights for once. She was going to look for something to steal to replace the skirt, however, her attention was drawn to the bank... and soon to her friends that seemed to be going in the same direction. Talk about coincidence, she thought, and rushed over to catch up with the three of them.

...Interesting. He could definitely work with just the HIVE being there. Fewer unnecessary people to deal with. It seemed odd that the Titans weren't there yet, but then again, Disruptor knew a thing or two about things not going as they should. Regardless. This worked for him.

"See-More. Gizmo. Jinx. Ghost." The last name wasn't filled with more resentment than the others, but he figured it made for a dramatic introduction, which mattered. Yes it did. "So kind of you to show up." Before he had even said that, he turned his attention from the bank; it was as if none of them even existed. "I suppose you're all wondering why I called this meeting today." Of course, if any of them even knew who he was, well, that wouldn't change much, but it would be enough. So he waited for a response, still flexing his wrists.

Meanwhile, back in the Tower, Terra waited for everyone to show up before she began the condensed briefing. "Crisis at the bank. Serious problem. Every teller must be freaked. Follow me if you don't know the way. Let's move out."

And with those words, she ran off out the main door; her goggles quickly donned, grabbed hold of a rock and sped off towards the scene of the crime.

*Beast Boy followed Terra out the doors, shifted into a pterodactyl, and flew after her as fast as he could. They should get to the bank pretty quickly, if not stealthily. Really, a big chunk of rock and a green pterodactyl hoving through the sky? Little inconspicuous, but they were heroes, people were supposed to see them.*

And people were definitely going to see Lightning. After all, a lightning bolt darting above the city without any sign of a storm in the sky was out of the ordinary.

Lightning looked through the crowds as he headed over to the bank, and he happened to notice a certain, blue haired girl running in the same direction he was going.

Grinning, he dropped down to her level, hovering next to her, and said, "I bet I can beat you there," and zapped ahead without waiting for an answer.

She smiled at first when she saw him, but before she could greet him, he was off, and she slowed down her run, jaw agape. What.

"OH YEAH?!" She yelled after him. "We'll see about that, flashy pants!" Ophelia smirked. She waved her hand over the ground below her, making a large chunk of ice as a makeshift skateboard... thing. Only with ice instead of wheels and wood. Taking a few steps back and then running forward, she hopped ont the frozen creation, sliding off after him. She knew it wouldn't slide on it's own for long, and was pleasantly surprised she could propel it with her powers while she was still on top of it.

The faster she urged it to go, the more she bent her knees, and kept her arms out, maintaining her balance as she weaved in and out of crowds of people. When she caught up with Lightning and passed him, she turned around to make a face at him; completely oblivious to the revolving doors of the bank. The board slammed into the door, sending her flying off of it, and into the bank, screaming.

With that, Robin nodded, and head towards the Bank and into the building itself via a skylight in the structure, opening it up, and leaping downwards. The teenager landed with a thud on a table, his cape draped over himself, and concealed much of his figure.

Taban continued foward, most people were gone by now, and he was glad. The large number of panicked persons perusing peckily about had caused him some minor discomfort. Not one to rush in blindly to anything, Taban stopped for a moment by a bench to recall exactly what he had on him. First and foremost was his extremely expensive cellphone, it was nigh indestructable made from very light yet strong materials, and he could hack into most databases with it alone, and it also did all necessary cell-phone options. Naturally he also had a few of his favourite candies on him, as well as a silencer pistol with 2 rounds of ammunition. Pausing once again he held his index finger to his lips. He as well had a nail file on him, hand sanitizer, a pack of latex gloves, as well as his wallet. Of course he also had his powers which he could use, but it was better not to be too demonstrative with his powers, until it became necessary, and now he would simply be an observer.

He carefully surveyed the scene a moment. The front entrance would be far too obvious, and prone to attack, the side entrance was the second obvious choice. The back could work, but it would take more time, and there was the entire event of the criminal being distracted. Finally, Taban decided to shield himself with his powers wherever he was vulnerable, and slowly advanced a little way's away from the commotion. It took him a moment or two longer, but he had a viewing of the area, and made himself appear to be a bit of a concerned citizen, rather than some sort of spy.

/This is slightly more dangerous then I wanted it to be, but at least I can gather more data this way/ he thought to himself.

See-More took a few, deep breaths when he finally got to the bank -- and then Disruptor called him by his name.

At first, See-More didn't even recognize the guy. The way that he was glancing the guy over probably made this obvious, but he didn't care for the guy's feelings.

"You sure called a meeting all right... uh. Whoa, wait," he said, realizing who it was. "Disruptor?"

Gizmo, despite his better judgement, had followed See-More and the others to the bank, and had, surprisingly, not been mouthing off the entire way there.

He landed behind his friend, and just stared at the scene, quizzically.

Ghost didn't like the bitterness he was picking up on, not only from Disruptor's tone of voice, but also from his mind. He was angry - at his fellow HIVE students, and really, anyone that he blamed for somehow holding him down.

"Traditionally, when one decides to hold a meeting, one usually notifies over the telephone or by memo," said Ghost, keeping his tone calm and professional. "Admittedly, this is an attention-getting strategy."

He hadn't recognized the guy at first, but that was one of those cases where telepathy came in very handy. And now, he could remember that Disruptor had been in his class, and held back, not once, but a second time, until winding up in the class with Ghost's younger friends.

/Stay alert,/ he advised his fellow HIVE Five members mentally. /In case you couldn't tell, he's rather angry./

Well, fantastic, Jinx thought to herself after recieving Ghost's telepathic message. I just have the best luck, wandering into things like this.

She hated herself for thinking the whole 'luck' thing for a second. What was irritating her even more though, was she had no idea who this guy was. Maybe it was the whole alternate reality Nexus fun fooling with her, but she didn't remember seeing this guy, or anyone like him.

Of course, Jinx let her snarkiness get the best of her. Crossing her arms, she simply said, "Just who is this moron? Is he really from the HIVE? We had.. y'know, standards where I'm from." She looked straight at him, but spoke as if he wasn't even there.
