GENERAL INFORMATION
Name:Btp248
Age: Just turned 20!
1./ If you could have one job, what would it be? I would like to be a diplomat and am actually planning on becoming a Foreign Service Officer. Anything where I can put my Anthropology degree to good use in today’s society.
2./ What are your four worst qualities? I’m sarcastic, I’m a bit paranoid, and I’m brutally honest. I’m so inconsistent that I confuse myself. I can’t seem to be the same person with all the people I know. Everyone has drastically different views on my personality. This may be my Army Brat syndrome but who knows?
3./ What are your four best qualities?I give people the benefit of the doubt, I stand by my convictions, I’m particularly adept at understanding others and I’m honest- to myself and to others.
4./ Describe yourself in five words or fewer.I’m energetic, idealistic, tough, and empathetic.
5./ Describe your leadership style. I listen to everyone’s opinions but am not afraid to fight them if I believe I’m doing the right thing. I know that people have to trust you and respect you, even if they don’t always agree with you. If you don’t have those two things from the people you are trying to lead, then you have a tough road ahead of you and may not be able to accomplish your goals.
6./ How do you think others would describe you? Opinionated and sarcastic but also kind and understanding.
7./ When under a lot of pressure, how do you manage it? It really depends. I’m the level headed one that organizes things when amongst my peers, but if someone in my immediate family is in danger, and I can’t do anything about it, I tend to fall apart.
8./ Pick one that describes you the best.
a./ Introvert or Extrovert (self-motivated or action/people-motivated): I’m kind of an introverted extrovert. If that’s possible. I keep so much inside that’s important and I observe. Yet I’m perfectly capable of being the life of the party although it’s usually just a front and my actions aren’t always an indication of how I really feel.
b./ Logical or Intuitive (go with concrete fact or trust your gut): I tend to be more intuitive but am perfectly capable of seeing things logically. However logic is objective, which is why I tend to go with my gut.
c./ Thinking or Feeling (follow your head or follow your heart): Feeling. Always follow the heart, even when your head tries to talk you out of it.
d./ Shy or Outgoing: I am definitely more outgoing. I’m the person who will strike up a conversation in a line at Wal-mart and make a life-long friend.
e./ Optimistic or Pessimistic: I’m an optimist, something quite rare in my family. I believe people have the ability to change and can be good and decent.
9./ How do you show that you care about others? I listen. I feel their pain with them, let them know that they have a friend. I give them what they need, when they need it and protect them. That’s just what you do when you care about someone.
10./ Give us a quote. “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
11./ Who is your hero and why? (Does not have to be anyone famous.) I don’t really know how I feel about the concept of heroes. I don’t really have any heroes of my own.
QUESTIONS RELATED TO BAND OF BROTHERS
1./ Favorite soldier in Easy Company. Why? Wow, that’s really hard to answer. But if I have to, I think I would say Joseph Liebgott. He’s such a tragic character to me. He’s a well-liked and good soldier who gets emotionally caught up in his own reasons for fighting. His character just- moves me. I can’t really describe it.
2./ Favorite episode or favorite chapter in the book. Why? I particularly love the episode of Carentan. Because we finally get to see them all together as a unit taking one of their first objectives and learning to adapt to combat. The ways in which they all react to battle reveals, and I think tells us, a lot about their characters individually.
3./ If you had been alive in World War Two and eligible for military service, what branch would you have joined? What job would you have wanted (infantry, artillery, medic, pilot, at all.)? Why? I would have most likely gone into the Airborne seeing as how I know the most about it. My mother and father are retired officers of the 101st. I would have liked to be a medic, like my mother was, because I don’t think I could bring myself to take a life.
4./ Okay, so now you're in the military. What is the one thing you want to send or bring home from Europe? Just myself and my dog tags.
5./ The war in Europe is over. Would you be willing to go fight in the Pacific? Why or why not? I would go, because there are people over there who need me. Similarly it would be hard, I imagine, to let go of your Company and way of life.
6./ What are your plans for when you return home? To go and find a peaceful place to sit, reflect, just breathe in God’s presence and remember that the world can still be beautiful and eternally moving- even if life is hard.
