Duet April 2004 - More than brothers!! Less than Twins?!
Yaotome Hikaru & Yabu Kota
They are known for their friendship but we don’t think it’s just “two of a kind” …
So we asked them to talk about the difference that they only know!
Yaotome: Taiyo’s dad took us to a place that cooks the fishes you fished right away♪
Yabu: We fished a sea bream right? A sea bream♪
Yaotome: Then, when we were eating the sea bream, a big lobster jumped out of the fish tank! Taiyo and I couldn’t catch it because we were too scared but you caught it and threw it back. That was so manly!
Yabu: But it was actually foolhardy (laughs).
Yaotome: People might say we are alike but our personality are different sometimes.
Yabu: Did it hit you when that lobster case happened?
Yaotome: No, I don’t mean it like that (laughs). But generally, Yabu tends to be more precise when I’m careless and rough.
Yabu: Oh, yeah.
Yaotome: I think anything that looks clean is good enough. That’s why my closet is messy while my room is clean (laughs).
Yabu: Isn’t that why you forget a lot?
Yaotome: Oh crap! (laughs)
Yabu: When you used to stay at the hotel over here (Tokyo) I was always the one who noticed if you have forgotten anything when I came all the way to your room to pick you up.
Yaotome: Yup, yup.
Yabu: When I say “Hikaru, I think you forgot something” you’d say “Hm? No I didn’t” and won’t notice anything so I started to get worried. That’s why I look around the room where Hikaru’s stayed to see if he didn’t forget anything (laughs)
Yaotome: Kyahaha! Yabu is like an older brother (laughs). Also, you can tell people’s personality with the way they eat bentos. Yabu eats his (side) dish one by one but I eat fried egg and tsukemono [Japanese pickled vegetables] at the same time.
Yabu: All the flavors gets mixed in if you do that~.
Yaotome: It’s okay, everything is going to be end up inside your stomach anyway!
Yabu: … We sure aren’t alike (laughs)
Yaotome: Even though we get along. … Oh, have you gotten taller recently? What did you to get taller?
Yabu: I drank that rumored drink that said to make you grow taller. You know that juice looking drink that any convenience store has? Well, that.
Yaotome: Really? How tall are you now?
Yabu: About 155cm.
Yaotome: You got 5cm taller than me~!
Yabu: But you don’t care about who’s gotten taller, do you?
Yaotome: … I do care (laughs).
Yabu: You don’t have to. After all, I am a year older than you.
Yaotome: But, a year goes by fast and I’m worried if I can grow as tall as you in a year.
Yabu: Then, drink milk everyday (laughs).
Yaotome: … Wait. What do you have in your hands?
Yabu: A pin. I got the pin on my wardrobe from the stylist.
Yaotome: Really!? I’m gong to get one, too!
Yabu: Eh… what about the talk!?
Yaotome: The pin’s going to be gone~~~~!!
Yabu: He left… Even though we talked about how we aren’t alike, we just might be alike. Because we want the same thing (laughs).
