Yokoyama Yu
Q. When you first entered the agency, which senpai did you look up to?
A. I think I said Nakai kun. I wasn’t a good singer and when I saw Nakai kun I thought “you can still join even if you can’t sing” then, gained more courage. When I see him MC-ing, I think he’s the Johnny’s pioneer.
Q. Do you hate to lose?
A. Members tell me that. I have this absolute confidence what I think is right. Although I don’t go near what I’m not good at. I don’t fight to lose. That’s why I don’t try to overcome my shyness.
Q. When you’re working, do you have your own style to do so?
A. It’s “I don’t know unless I get there”. Even with anything from acting, I think about work when I get to work. As much as I prepare, it sometimes doesn’t go as I wanted to. I also take a note on the place’s reactions.
Q. What does Kanjani∞’s member means to you?
A. No similarity with my friends and families. I think of them as fellow soldiers I fight along with. We have a goal we go at together.
Yamada Ryosuke
Q. When you first entered the agency, which senapi did you look up to?
A. (Domoto) Koichi kun. He can sing, dancing, act and do everything cool so he’s my prince.
Q. Do you hate to lose?
A. Pretty much. I hated that everyone around me got to hold the mike first when I joined. I liked dancing so I practiced 3 hours after the lessons too. In one of the plays, I had dance for this other kid’s role so I worked hard thinking “damn it!” but that was the first time I was praised by the president of the agency. My perspective towards work changed from that moment on.
Q. When you’re working, do you have your own style to do so?
A. I always make a goal and then do everything I can to get there. Also, it’s like a positive thinking but I’m good at not stressing about unnecessary things. I don’t feel down when I think a certain work wasn’t made for me. I tell myself what I’m doing now is made for me.
Q. What does Hey!Say!JUMP means to you?
A. They’re what makes me relax and motivate. My dream is for great number of people to know about us!
Yokoyama: When did I ever first meet Yamada kun? Was it in a play about 4 years ago?
Yamada: It’s the “Musical Dream Boys” play KAT-TUN and Kanjani∞did. Yokoyama kun was the manager of something, a role with a dark side.
Yokoyama: And when did you join Johnny’s agency?
Yamada: At age 12. My parents sent in a resume without telling me and I passed public audition.
Yokoyama: (quietly) Wow, you’re well raised.
― Seeing shy Yokoyama san start the talk on his own is pretty rare.
Yokoyama: That’s because I can’t say “I’m a little shy…” to a 16 year old kid (laughs) He’s 12 years younger than me!
― You guys play brothers in the drama but Yokoyama san has little brother in real life, correct?
Yokoyama: We get along great. Last year, we went on oversea vacations 3 times. My hobby is to travel so whenever I get 4 days off, I’ll go oversea right away. I’ll call my little brother and tell him “’I’ve decided we’ll go on a vacation on this day. Have your schedule open. Now, where should we go? My brother doesn’t know where we’re heading it to until the day.
Yamada: Hmm…. I’m jealous! I’m envious of going on vacations without preparations. I have an older and younger sister and we go to the zoo or amusement parks together but we get along pretty well though.
― Do you fight?
Yokoyama: For me, what my older brother says goes. If I ever complain, it ends with me getting kicked (laughs).
― You’re like a pro of older brothers (laughs).
Yamada: I think about how Yokoyama kun’s talks are always so amazing… Kanjani∞ has 7 members too but Hey!Say!JUMP has 10 members. I feel at ease with all those people so when it’s time for me to talk, I pass it on to others. Should we decide who talks?
Yokoyama: You just need to have fun when you’re talking! I don’t force myself to talk, I just say whatever I thought was funny. Work’s the same too. I think the way to last long is to have fun while you’re at it. From talks, acting, singing and dancing, Johnny’s specialty is that we can challenge ourselves anything.
Yamada: You’re right. I don’t have anything to hide and I don’t think there’s a need for me to act cool…
Yokoyama: Right? Yamada kun, you’re well mannered than when I was 16. If you have confidence, then you’re perfectly fine!
