Back to Portland, specifically.
It's annoying enough not to be getting more Thursday next (sorry, totally not intended), but I knew quite awhile ago that he would be writing The Fourth Bear, the second in the Nursery Crime series, next, instead of going back to TN, and as it should be plenty funny, I don't especially mind. But I just found out that US tour for The Fourth Bear (which doesn't have an especially interesting title) won't go to Portland.
What is the point of having Powell's around, I ask you, if they don't drag my favorite authors to town? Okay, well, they got Fforde on the day after his last book came out and I managed to see him before I left for China...and Maguire did go there after SOAW, but as I was in China at that point it doesn't matter.
And I guess I adore Powell's anyway, but...yes. Pretty much, I need to sleep. I don't actually mind that much. *grins*
ETA: But who can't absolutely adore an author who puts, on the navigation bar at the top of his website, http://www.jasperfforde.com/hamlet.html? Even the advertisements are funny. Granted, they're fake, but...click one if you go there. Trust me.
