hehe... I live by there now on 43rd and 10th. Fun neighborhood.

When I had my teeth pulled, I had to keep my eyes shut the entire time. From what it felt like, I kept imagining the doctor's hands covered in blood, putting crazy, torture-like devices in my mouth. At one point, it felt like he had his foot on my forehead as he yanked at the tooth with both hands.

My favorite, though, was the girl in the next room getting the gas (I heard EVERYTHING, because there was a curtain instead of a door between the rooms). She started out with "I feel funny..." moved on to "I hate my life... my mother is so hard on me and thinks I'm fat... everyone at school is so mean to me" and finishes with, "This stuff is great... can I take some home?" All I heard out of the doctor was a disinterested, "Mmmhmmm.... mmmhmmmm...." It was hilarious, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for the girl.

As soon as we got to the parking lot, I handed the prescription for pain killers to my father. He took one look at it, and said, "baaah... all you need is Tylenol."

The next day, my family and I went to see the Nutcracker, followed by an elaborate Korean dinner, where all I could eat was the little jello-like cake thingy that came as a side dish. I think I ate about 12 of them. Meanwhile, my parents and brother are chowing down on the finest smelling korean barbeque I have ever seen. I'll have to remember this story for the next time I'm in therapy. :p
