Flew back from Narita and when the plane was about to land the announcements that the temp outside was 27˚C made me realise we were stepping out into a 20˚C difference. Whoopie doop.
Is there a way to cover your face and still see where you're going? My nose runs uncontrollably once it goes to 4˚C and below. I wanted to see how I'd fare in the lower temps before I plan a visit to you but now after just 3-4˚C in Kyoto it doesn't seem like I cold-weather well. :(
get a balaclava! :P but then i'm always paranoid/worried about breathing into the mask then have it frost up/freeze cos of moisture.... D: (here, i got a shawl/scarf thing from zara - in dark red! so pretty... and cover my nose/cheeks/mouth... only every once in a while) edinburgh is soooo windy too D: sigh.
If you have the paper masks, you could try one under the balaclava or scarf. If it doesn't impede breathing, it will lessen the number of times you have to wash your balaclava or scarf. I'm glad you have a shawl you enjoy using, and dark red is a good colour for you next to the skin. I hope there's no worry of you getting snowed up, please buy more storable food if there's a chance you might be!
