It's a Darjeeling. Very unusual, fascinating fragrance, more green. I thought it was Chinese. I was given a sample, Well, I asked. :) Pics tomorrow.
Green leaf tips, furry silver tips. The scent is green and subtle. Yesterday at the counter when the canister was tipped towards me, it was tantalising - elusively spicy, then slightly floral, hint of peach. Like a white tea but not, like a green tea but not. A yellow tea?
Brewed, the liquor was pale yellow with a tint of green. Again the rolling green, spice, floral, fruit scents, as though completing a circle then starting again. Calming, restoring spirits. Very subtle, very slightly astringent to the taste, but not staying bitter just awakening the senses. At the back of my mind it keeps reminding me of gyukuro more than the darjeelings I've come across. Leaves a lingering sweetness and the mind alert.
I am afraid to find out how much this tea is, I suspect it is Very Expensive.
I still have some more though, heeheehee. *hugsteapacket*
I found them at Takashimaya's Food Court. The young man (seems French) at the counter tells me they have about 250 teas at Raffles Place, Republic Plaza, and they have tea testing, a patisserie, light refreshments. 250 teas!!! And fabulous macarons. I was actually buying for m'girl the macarons they had displayed and was mesmerized by the teas which were of a higher quality than I'd expected. I wasn't keen at first because we've had so many pretentious tea companies set up with terrible wares, this one is very attractive.
