news from salina cruz

i don{t know how anyone at home is doing really... i have talked to a couple camp friends. I called my family a lot when i was still at eagle rock. rachel came to visit her cousin so i was able to hang out with her for a couple of days. home seems so far from where i am mentally.

we arrived here in salina cruz yesterday. we took a twelve hour bus ride through the night from Mexico city. yesterday was our day to rest and so i found this little internet cafe where i can try to keep up with some friends through email. anyway, we are living here in the most poor state of mexico. but the people from the church welcomed us with ballons and song. the girls here love to play with my hair, since it is blonde, and they are patient with me as i try to say something to them in spanish. i really have a ways to go with the language. i almost said something in french to them yesterday without thinking... so much has happened in the week we have been in mexico. we have six more weeks and then report back. i don{t know if i will get around to writing more. i don{t know why i decided to write something now. if anyne stumbles upon this, i hope you are doing well and maybe i will see you this summer....

i guess i will go check my email before the hour is up....

Steven, if you read this, tell phil i said hello. i miss hanging out with you guys. and DON{T forget to buy me my ticket!!! you know what i am talking about
