a few weeks ago i received a text from a friend of mine saying that she had recommended me to go with the Middlesex County Volunteers in Sydney, Australia. i was beginning to think i wasn't going to hear anything, until today. tonight when i was leaving my jr corps practice the woman in charge of recruiting fifers for the trip called me!!! the trip is 2 weeks at the end of January...therein my problem. i need to find a way to get school to be ok with me missing 2 weeks of school. i will have all my days free, as the shows we'll be doing are at night with no practices during the day, which will allow for me to get my work done. i know i can do it, i just need to talk to an advisor to see if there's any policy that says anything about something like this. while i'm there, i'd like to try to get in touch with a health department there, which may also make the difference between yes or no. i jjust know this could be the chance of a lifetime and i need to find a way to make it work!!!
