The more I think about it/read what I know is actually just really convincing useless bullshit online, the more I get really really really freaked out about my future

I don't know that journalism is on a downward spiral, just newspapers. Rightly so, in my opinion. Maybe you should look into telejournalism. Anyway, I suspect that having a degree in anything is a lot better than having no degree in anything.
Yeah, and without newspapers, there's really no hope of me getting a job. Bah. And I really don't know what else I would get a degree in :/ Nothing else interests me enough.
Sure you can get a job! Journalism jobs will still be there; they'll just be online or on TV.
Oh and PS, after more than a month of work, my website is pretty much done. Four years of my life in photographs, all my favorite sets. :)
I'd love to have people make sure I've got all the code right, all the right thumbnails connected to the right photos, etc. Please have a look around! www.vanden-eykel.com/photography
You could always find a career online or something like that. People still need to be aware of daily life and things that occuring around them, whether local or global. You'll definitely still have a job. And if I were you, I'd only concentrate on if that job is going to MAKE YOU HAPPY. So many people that go into science-related careers only do it for the money, and those people are the most miserable of all. I know for me, teaching is a shit job with limited pay for a long time in your life. It's competitive. But I'd rather be making shit wages and be happy then making a ton of money and be absolutely miserable. The worst thing you can do is doubt yourself and your decision, julieee. :] Gotta have faith, girl.

I don't even know what kind of degree I'm getting but it sure as hell isn't going to make me any money.
