I chose the music round over at 20inspirations for round #13 \o/ I decided to leave out any alts/rejects because I figured that I needed the space to ramble on about how each song fits each icon because frankly some songs were /hard/ to translate into The Hunger Games :D

} inspiration post for round 11: music
01 somebody that i used to know | gotye feat. kimbra
I really love the quirkyness of the song and it was so eerie and beautiful. I was struggling with cropping this cap because I wanted to include both Katniss and Gale, so eventually I just played around with the composition and it turned out like this, with the song playing on repeat as I was doing it.

I was mainly inspired by the electronic beats and melody, which to me translated somehow into using cool colours and a texture with graphs and diagrams.

This came on while I was doing this cap and I just couldn't stop thinking about how sad it was that Katniss had to leave Prim ;_____; and idc that it's a love/breakup song.

In this part of the trailer, Peeta's talking about how if he were to die, he still wanted to be him. And Katniss is all bamf and replies that she can't afford to think like that. I just wanted to show that they were from different backgrounds in the same district, basically, and so they're like the odd couple with flaws but are perfect for each other. Also wanted to try out sarisafari's colouring/blending tutorials tbqh.

On the left is the Capitol-prettified Katniss. But she stays true to herself and her morals in the Games, so on the right you can see her standing tall and being badass and generally sending chills down my spine /every/ time I rewatch this part of the trailer.

This was tough. I related it to how Peeta and Katniss were both trying to find each other in the Games but missing each other and doubting each other. It's also a tough song, with hard beats, and I felt that it kind of was in sync with the harshness of the Hunger Games.

I heard this on Switched At Birth and fell in love with the quiet intensity on it and it somehow managed to translate itself into Katniss looking at Gale.

NGL. I have a THG playlist and there are a number of Paramore songs on it. Especially from their album Riot!. Their songs are perhaps more for Catching Fire and Mockingjay, but Idk I connected Born For This with the ~meta~ sense that Katniss was born to take down the Capitol.
