Hey, happy birthday, Montisello!! Hope it's a good one - be sure to spoil yourself as much as possible.

July, this is gorgeous! I want to wrap a blanket around it and take it home. Poor Dean, all busted up and just wanting his favorite beverages, can't even get a fudgin' cup of coffee. Loved your OCs, the fussy clerk, the patient cops, even the ghost! Beautifully done.

Thank you so much! It's wonderful to hear that the Oh, Dean stuff worked as well as the OC's. That's one of the things that I love about Kripke and the structure of the show (especially seasons 1 and 2): the parade of solid, independent OC's. So it really warms the cockles of my cold little heart to hear feedback like that!

"...The Winchesters were not headed for hell..." Hmm. How wrong can one boy be?

This was great - nice to see Sam looking out for Dean for a change! I really think Sam would have been an interesting fourteen year - caught somewhere between still hero-worshipping his big brother and realising there was more to life than following his dad around hunting evil... You gave us a nice taste of that here!

Yeah...poor Sam. I really wanted to show pre-Stanford, post wee!chester Sam, somewhere in between the innocent little kid from the Supernatural Christmas and the more jaded pre-Pilot Sam choosing Stanford for himself. I really appreciate the feedback and I'm totally thrilled that Sam worked here. I like to think that Sam tried and tries to take care of his brother in his own way.

That was adorable. A really great little scene you've captured here, with some thoughtful, amusing and believable musings regarding Religion. I love this:

What kind of prophet…what kind of God says no to coffee? What kind of faith requires decent men and women to forego the simple pleasure of a hot cup of caffeine?”

Thank you! Houses of the Holy was definitely not my favorite episode, but I think it was pretty telling about the boys' world view. Dean is definitely not afraid to face the evil but Sam seems to be the only one able to face the light. Except for the coffee. Dean and I agree on that: coffee is God's gift to mortals. That and Blue Bell Cookies 'n Cream.

This may make you laugh, but I think Dean would have made a great Quaker back in the day.

This is great. I love the whole tone of it. Sam looking out for, and standing up for, Dean and Dean just drugged up enough to let himself appreciate it rather than batting it away with his patented self-deprecating snark.

I loved the description of the ghost, and this line, especially: <...Dean would rather eat broken glass than expose Sam to the flu virus, much less to a 100 year old battle axe who wasn’t ready for the undiscovered country.

Battle axe pretty much described the clerk, too. Turning up her nose at anyone not steeped in her own personal odor of sanctity. Only a Winchester would walk into a convenience store and luck into a clerk like that!

Excellent gift for an excellent birthday girl!

An excellent birthday girl, indeed! Monti rules. I really hope I did her B-day justice and I really appreciate the feedback!

Confession: I have a serious fondness for drugged Dean. I think you're exactly right. It's because he can let himself appreciate it rather than batting it away. Plus, you know, the shenanigans.

OH I LUVS IT WITH THE POWER OF A THOUSAND SUNS.

I loved your ghost the most, those early pioneer women really were battle axes, and she's married to a Seventy! HEHE. And Dean not buying Joseph Smith talking to rocks in a hat. GOD, YOU KILLED ME! The flying Books of Mormon. The "health in their navel and marrow in their bones." I sporfled.

Plus, you know, of course John has a warrant in Utah. And Sammy taking care of his family.

!!!THANKS FOR THIS I LOVE MY FLIST AND HAS GONE INTO STRAIGHT CAPSLOCK!!!
