I highly recommend
The Children of Henry VIII. It's not as massive as its prequel (about the wives) or the sequel (about Elizabeth). And it perfectly encompasses the political turmoil and entanglements in England in between the death of Henry VIII and the accession of Elizabeth. Which is what we here at Dunnett's House of History Porn are all about. With bonus appearances by John Dee, Ascham, the Dudleys, and Margaret Douglas Countess of Lennox!
I am overwhelmed by the urge to reread Dunnett and re-watch
Elizabeth. Actually, I can't re-watch Elizabeth until I read The Life of Elizabeth I. Damn, I love that movie.
I'm forgetting something. OH YES.
