So July will be here next week and
allyear_sprints will be there to assist you. It'll be epic and awesome and I'm working on a kick off celebration, Mazel style. Huzzah.
But I want to talk to you for just a second about the rules.
Just like regular NANO, the rules of JulNanoWrimo are 50K in a month. And that's fine and dandy, but in my humble and honest opinion, rules? They're kinda meant to be broken.
I think the fun of July Nano is that you don't have to take it as SERIOUSLY as regular Nano. (Although let's be real, regular nano isn't 100% serious business either).
In fact, here's what I'm doing for JulNanoWriMo.
I'm writing a one shot, every day for the first 18 days. The one shot will be between 1500 - 3000 words. I'm not going to be around after the 18th - I'm gone until August 1st, so you can see my problem with doing a traditional nano.
And yet, I'm still excited and happy.
It's okay to bend the rules and yet still say you're participating. After all, it's writing. It's supposed to be creative and everyone's supposed to have their own style.
Maybe you don't think you have enough time/energy to plot and write out a whole new novel. OKAY THAT's FINE! Still join us for JulNanoWrimo. It'll be fun to write with people and have a blast.
So who's with me? Who's in? Who's going for the traditional 50K and who's tweaking the rules to fit their needs?
Tell me in the comments.
