I love coming home, taking off my superman costume, and throwing my windows open when it's cold out. I'm wearing pajama pants and my ratty old "I thought we had spirit, but no" ODU sweatshirt. So comfy and perfect. Now all I have to do is lay on the couch while CSI is on and fall asleep until John comes over to steal music / wake me up. (Mostly to steal music.)

Today was my first day at the Daily Press! It was a little stressful, just because it was so much to take in. I met more people than I think I'll ever be able to remember, and it wasn't nearly everyone that works there. In fact, I don't think I met one single reporter... just admin people, and marketing, and circulation. I did see the printing presses, which are cuh-ray-zee. The press is like 3 stories high, and when they print a normal newsppaper they print over 30 MILES of paper. Neato. I have a desk that is way too big for me. And I've been entrusted with the only key to the promotions closet already. I made calls to event organizers that I've worked with before and said "hey, remember me? Worked for the Fox? I'm with the Daily Press now." I like being with the Daily Press now. But that's all I've got for my first day... I'll keep everyone informed of my journalistic / promotional adventures.

Saturday was the Zombie Walk in Richmond that I DID NOT ATTEND. But later in the day Dan and I went up there. It's so silly. I can't believe it just slipped my mind, especially since we ended up driving to Richmond anyway! Oh well. There's always next year. We later went to Busch Gardens which was also silly... so many people there, geez. I'm so spoiled by my season pass, I don't want to do anything that I have to wait for at that place. So we didn't stay long - just long enough to get John a candied apple. Very important.

Heidi and I went to the Stockley Gardens Art Festival on Sunday. It was beautifully perfect weather, and fun stuff. Sno-cones in fall! I purchased an amazing photo of fireworks at the 2004 Neptune Festival. I'm glad it was the 2004 one too, because I watched those from a hotel room at the oceanfront with Camille and Steph that year and it was great. I found some gifts as well. They'll be arriving shortly.

All is well. Not even the rude actions of others have been able to upset me lately. I like that. I hope to keep it up. I'll let the bad wash right off and soak the good right up.

Couch nap!
