I just finished the new Harry Potter book in under 15 hours. I'm not going to spoil it. I'm quite proud of myself, even if you want to argue that it's a childrens book and I damn well should get through it fast. 652 Pages takes a while, no matter what. I love Harry. I'm going to marry him, and no one can tell me differently. I do not, however, love Harry's editors on this book. There were at least 6 spelling or grammatical errors that I noticed in this book. Maybe that's snobby of me or whatever, but if you have a book that's having 10.5 million copies printed for the first day of sales, you should maybe make sure a couple of decent editors look at it. I read it in two damn days, it's not like it's the most difficult read on the market. It just pulls you out of the world of the story when you have to stop and think "did Harry really peer out through the 'fug'?" Annoying. Still super A+ though. It's almost over...
Despite reservations, I rather enjoyed the new Willy Wonka movie as well. Maybe I like things more because I'm in a better mood due to unemployment? Who knows. But Johnny Depp did a pretty decent job as Willy Wonka, and you can absoutely see the Tim Burton-ishness (I know that's not a word, but 20 million people aren't going to read this) in the film. I know plenty of people will hate it, and the original will always be a classically great movie, but I enjoyed it for what it is.
I have a return interview for a job on Tuesday. I've had a lot of interviews. This is my second callback interview. The ball is now rolling, and I feel that I will have a job by the end of next week. And life will be grand. I haven't really thought about taking any "because I have to" jobs yet, and it looks like I won't have to. Everyone that's called me back pays more than I was making at the station, the jobs interest me, and they have normal hours. Yessss! So soon I will make money again, and maybe be stressed a little again, but I'm getting pretty bored so it's for the best.
I bought Karaoke Revolution. I can beat it on expert, so its not really a challenge. All you have to do is hum the melody in tune and you can win. It's not nearly as challenging as DDR, but it does make me feel good about myself after I've gotten like 6 E's in a row on DDR. Let's karaoke sometime...
The ocean was creepy and full of
Blue Fish and dolphins and dead bugs the last time we went. Gross. But John and I did end up getting matching shorts, so that made up for the ocean's oddness.
I don't really know what to do now that I'm done with Harry. I guess... laundry? Not nearly as exciting.
