No seriously!
As you know, we're having our reception at the
Carlson Conservatory in MN. Well, despite the fact that they're broke, they're not the cheapest place on the market.
So I went up there a few weeks ago and gave them a $2000 check towards our balance. Well, it bounced or something. I had deposited 2k in there before we left, but a large chunk of that was gone already due to bills, I guess. So it bounced.
But I still needed to get them the money. So I went for the Cashier's check option. Cash up front at the bank and a guaranteed check. No problem, right?
WRONG! I mailed it last week. Put it in the box on either tuesday or wednesday, and it didn't get there until today.
It was my fault, really, because I put the stamp on the wrong side of the envelope. It still got there, but it was held up.
She called me today, before she checked her mail, saying she hadn't gotten it, and she needed a CC to cover the cost. She sounded a bit panicky, and I started freaking out. Our money is spread out, and we don't have that kind of cash to spare.
I spent 30 minutes trying to get ahold of david with no luck, so my panic level just kept rising until I was about to esplode.
Well, she just called me about 1 minute ago, telling me she had it in her hand, and I about died on the phone.
I think my heart stopped I was so relieved.
Anyway, I'm going to go have my heart attack.
