Ode to Dad

Apr 05, 2008 23:30

My dad taught me to revere mahogany.  He taught me to drive, to fear my mom, and to enjoy music.  He taught me to just do something as soon as it comes up so you don't have to worry about it later.  If not for him, I wouldn't appreciate british humor or know how to row a canoe.  I learned from him that if you can't afford it or find it, you can always make it (or fix it).  He taught me how to swing a hammer and mow a lawn and throw pottery and laugh easily.  And I'm grateful for all of it.
