the finale kind of killed that.
Kings was a show aired on NBC this summer. (already cancelled) It essentially retold the story of David and Goliath, and modeled the longer plot arcs on the book of Samuel, Kings1, Kings2, in the Bible.
It was a fascinating show to watch because you had biblical figures in a modern setting, and they had dealings with God, but the heart of the show wrapped around the ideas of leadership and a man's personal ambition. What will become of a good man in power? How will he take power? What will he do when he feels he is losing it.
It was very well done in that aspect. There were three potential kings in the show, David, King Silas, and Silas's son, Jonathan. Each of them had their issues with ambition, what they wanted, and what was morally right. And then there was the Queen who was as Machiavellian as you could expect. fun stuff. :)
