...was awesome! As I was sitting out in the parking lot, trying not to be nervous at the task I had volunteered myself for and welcomed with open arms...I spotted Alex, the lead singer of Florez. He spotted me too, and I was promptly embarrassed, but thought maybe I had imagined it until later when I was at the merch table and he said, "Did I see you outside in a Volvo?" I blushed and said, "yes." He smiled, "I thought I recognized you. My name's Alex...what's yours?"

The manager for the band is also the Merch guy and we had EXCELLENT conversation and it actually shocked me that he gave me a hug before he left...haha. ALL of the guys from Florez were sooooooo nice and sweet!!!! Bless their little Nashville born hearts anyways. They all signed my CD and I was so happy about that. I hope they come back soon...they put on a really fun show!

As for Starting Tuesday, all of my interaction that took place pre-show was with Ken, whom I had never met before because Scott was busy finding a place to change clothes...haha. He was funny though. Once I had things the way I wanted them, he came hopping over and in a girly voice giggled and said, "Oh, can I buy and CD or sign up for the mailing list?"

I played along and greatly encouraged him to do both and then he said, "Can I get three CDs for $20?" They are 12 each and so I sternly said, "Nope." and he pretended to cry and went away laughing. That was the last I saw of him until after their set.

I manned the station for both ST and Florez while Brian aka Smitty went to watch their set and then when they left, I moved over to their better spot for Merch and enjoyed the interesting stylings of "The Urban Sophisticates." They are kind of rap, jazz, ska...it's really interesting. The band geek in me loved that there was a really cool trumpet player and a really cool trombone player as well. I am not sure that I'd want to go and see them again unless they were with someone that I loved, but it was fun and a VERY energetic and entertaining show. The trumpet player reminded me of my friend Matt and it kept cracking me up what he would think if he ever saw this guy and knew I thought he reminded me of him! hahaha

After the show, all of the guys were gathered around and talking to me and it was really great. They are going to be in touch with me for the show at The Library and I am gonna do flyers and Merch for that show too. I am looking forward to it. The cool thing was that they really appreciated my help and were genuinely interested in talking me...asking me if I liked where I worked...how long I'd been there...where I was from...all that jazz. Great guys...even big tall...huge biceped, football playing Justin. hahaha
Ken was worn out and still had to drive Justin back to Duke...Scott was in withdrawals because today has only been the second day that he's been away from his wife since they got married and he said he is going to go home and sleep for a couple of hours and then head out to the mountains to see her. he just couldn't stand it man. Daniel was his normal energetic self, dancing around all over the place and it was just a great time overall.

I am glad that I went and I even saw my friend Cari from Whole Foods and a few of my customers...haha.

Well, I am beat and have to work a 9-5 shift tomorrow, so I am going to get going, but I'll talk to you all later.

Love and huggles...Tina
