I know I haven't updated in a bit and to be completely honest, I've been exhausted and haven't really cared much. LOL
I guess a lot of times, I don't feel like there is anything really interesting or significant going on with me and so I just forego posting. In case you're wondering, so far I have NOT yet been hired on at Providence, but I am working my way there. I can feel it in the water...feel it...oh...sorry, slipped into Galadriel mode there for a moment. hahaha
Anywho, I've been working the checkout position and making sure that patients get their follow-up appointments, getting charts ready and all that jazz. Well, the woman who does billing had to go out of town for a few days and so she showed me how to enter charges. This made my already hectic days even busier. I did that until she got back, and then again when they sent her to another office for a day.
I was just getting used to everything that I have to do in that position when my office manager asked if I would mind going to one of our other offices to help out with a pretty hefty patient load this past Wednesday because there is only one woman there and she actually works at the hospital, not Providence. So, I headed over there and omg...what a nightmare. They were SO unorganized and honestly, I don't know how they get anything done or how patients get seen. They misplaced charts, patients waited way too long in the waiting room and it was just a fiasco. However, Dr. Smith gave me rave reviews and told Wanda that he would like for me to go there with him more often.
So, starting this week, I'll be going to the Madison office and acting as "Program Coordinator" and whipping them into shape over there. I am looking forward to it, actually.
However, that being said...I hadn't ever worked check-in. Soooo...Wanda decided it would be a good idea for Missy and I to play musical chairs. So, starting on Thursday (one of our busiest days), I started cross-training at the check-in window, which really meant that I was thrown in and was expected to swim. So I did. : )
I admit that there were a few times when I got a little flustered because there were so many new patients coming in at once and I had to get my flow and process down pat. I made it through, though I had to stay a bit later than I wanted to. However, Friday went much smoother. I will be working check-in until I to back to Madison on Wednesday and then I am not sure how we are going to work it. Missy said Wanda wants us to swap out every other week or so...I'm not sure I want to. hahahaha I mean, I love learning, but I want my desk back. haha
We have a meeting after work tomorrow and while I am not sure what it's about, I hope that it's not a bitchfest from our local office drama queen and that it's actually about something productive. Missy already told me that she'll be daydreaming about the beach during the meeting. hahaha
So, work has been wearing me out lately...not to mention was I fighting getting over whatever that sickness was that I had. LOL
Now, after our snowstorm last weekend, this weekend it's been nearly 80 degrees and gorgeous! Candi and I repotted the babies from my spider plant today. Admittedly, she did most of it, but it was fun to be outside and I am sure the babies appreciate being in soil where they belong. : )
I feel like I've had a rather productive day today, though I don't really have much to show for it. In truth, I wish I had another day off before I have to go back to work, but what can you do? LOL
Missy was nice enough to order me a set of scrubs so that we would have a matching set and when I tried to pay her for them, she said they were a gift since I came up there to work with her and since I help her so much. I thought that was really sweet of her. Maybe I'll have to get her a set sometime to tell her thanks for teaching me so much.
Anywho, I am starting to ramble, so I am gonna stop now, but I hope that this post finds you all happy and well!
