The Bank Job
Why yes...that IS a Jason Statham movie that Candi and I just finished watching (one of his less exciting, unfortunately), but today it has another meaning -- my gig. hehe
So far so good with my weekend assignment. I am working at a bank that's being remodeled. I went in and disconnected all of the computers, phones, printers, and even an electric typewriter. (I got tickled about that).
I had to move all of the equipment into the only room that wasn't being affected by the remodel and make sure that there was no wiring that was on the floor so that the carpet guys didn't cut them or carpet over them. lol
I actually had a really good time and there was this phone guy who was there that kept me company while I unhooked, labeled, and gathered everything. Man, I was filthy when I was done, but it felt good to be working.
Tomorrow I will go back and reconnect everything, which will take longer of course. I need to make sure that I put everything back where it was, that all of the phones work, all of the pcs boot up to the login screen and that the network is being recognized. It's satisfying work though and it makes me remember when I did help desk and worked on stuff like this all of the time. Sometimes I miss it.
Anywho...just wanted to give you all an update. That's how things went today...I'll let you know how the other half goes tomorrow. : )
