Fiasco
That is the word of the day. Today was my day in the payroll office and after a restless night (I only got a few hours sleep last night), I rolled out of bed and headed into the office.
Over the past week, they've been updating the timekeeper system that we use and it's been incredibly slow. Well, much the same as the rest of the week, I couldn't even pull up 1 timecard, let alone a whole team.
So...I emailed some of my resources and the central helpdesk (they don't get in until 9am - ugh) and proceeded to be frustrated that I came in at 6:30am and couldn't get the payroll out. On any other payroll Monday I have to track down the team leaders and drag them by their ears into the office to get their punch details, but of course this morning I had them at the doorway every five minutes asking me if I had their details yet. I'll give you details....*scowls at them
While I was waiting, I had mustangcandi, munchkinofdoom, elysium1996, and kukalaka keeping me amused here in LJ land. So...thanks a bunch for that girlies! I appreciate you!!
Anywho...eventually Asia called me and told me to delete all but a certain version of Java and sure enough, it worked like a charm. I set to work immediately and about 3 hours later, we got an email from the central helpdesk stating the same thing. *rolls eyes These people didn't even take into consideration that the version of Java we were all using wasn't compatible with the new Kronos system.
Payroll was supposed to be completely finished by noon and it was eleven before I even was able to do ANY work at all!! *wishes she had an angry Don icon to insert here* Thank goodness this wasn't a hard payroll Monday.
Well, Judy was off today for some reason, so I was in the office by myself most of the day and that was a nice thing for the most part. Once I got rolling, I was getting a lot done and started feeling much better about life!!
Then, Ce came and got me and we commenced to napping. LOL I just woke up from dreaming about icons, plots, and overlords. *wink hahahaha
Now I am trying to figure out what in the world to have for dinner. *sighs
