Happy New Year, & 101 things

Happy New Year! I had a splendid evening at marnameow's & sbp's last night, finally bailed around 4am, & feel entirely bright-eyed & bushy-tailed this morning, hurrah. Hope you all had similarly enjoyable times.

NY resolutions didn't work so well last year, so I'm giving the 101-things-in-1001-days a go instead. (thank you for suggestions at the weekend ( Read more... )

I've got two of the Baroque Cycle books and the Lodon Bio if you're needed them.

And tell me: is there some kind of conflict between your interest in the Baroque Cycle and your interest in a fixie? :-D

Thanks - I have the London Bio (have had for *years* which is why it's on here!) & doop has all 3 Baroque Cycle so I should be OK, but thanks for the offer!

Fixie vs BC: I like both simplicity and complexity in my life :-)

094 seems an odd one for a lahndahner with a bad back.

It's something I've always been curious about. You can do volunteer-holiday thingies where they teach you to do it & then you help fix walls on National Trust property etc etc.

I can lift things if I'm careful & do it properly (I am after all a sysadmin!). If it turns out to be not-physically-possible for me - some things are like that, sadly - then I'll rethink.

I have the relevant tools[1] for 53 & 56, which you're welcome to use.

Also: I'm hoping to cycle off some of this season's accumulated lard. Shout if you'd like to form a small peloton.

[1] Dishing tools, lockring spanners. That sort of esoteric single-use stuff.

Thank you! The wheel-building may yet happen this year, & early-ish this year as I might have a Reason for it soon; I suspect the fixie won't till next year.

PBP btw was already on the list before you suggested it ;-)

I am def up for cycling runs in general this year - the Aim is to be doing a decent-length ride most weekends from here on in. Some of 'em will have to be AUK ones (for qualifying; plus it does help a bit with the motivation) but I anticipate a few visits to the South Downs independently as well.

Were you planning to replace "Go to Boom" with "Go to Exodus"? (Hey, it was in another country, and ridiculously hot..)
