So time for my monthly update! Yesterday I killed a black widow spider, and now I feel a little bad about it. The spider was struggling along near my mailbox at work, and I noticed it was black. So I took a closer look, because I am always on the lookout for one, never having seen one in real life. Once I saw the red hour glass, I took a step back hoping that this wasn't a jumping black widow spider. I stood there for a moment amazed, scared, and confused. What should I do? First reaction... I have to kill it, if it bites someone they will be in a lot of pain. So I looked around, found a magazine and squashed it against the wall. Mind you, I am not a squasher of spiders, I prefer to capture them and put them in the freezer to kill them, because I hate that crunching sound bugs make when you squish them. Then I looked to see if I could still see the red markings but there was too much goo all over everything. So then that made me sad. I have never seen one before in real life and now had lost my chance to capture it and stare at it for awhile. But the end would have been the same. So perhaps a quick death was better for it than freezing to death. For good news I am going to Hawaii in December to see U2 and Pearl Jam in a concert with the boyfriend and a couple of his friends! I am very excited! I have always wanted to go to somewhere tropical and swim in crystal clear water with marine life and white sands. Although, just a couple of days ago someone was bitten by a shark in Hawaii. No limbs lost, but even so, I don't think it would deter me from swimming in the ocean. You have to live life, not be afraid of what could happen. There's my two cents, unsolicited of course. Thanksgiving I am going home to visit the folks and have wonderful food. Hope you all have a good Thanksgiving... can you believe it is just one week away!? IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!! (shopping panic shall commence)
