Me, being a dumb-bunny

I'm housesitting again, but it's only the cat, so I don't have to be there 24-7.  Using the 'rents' compy for the first time in a while.  I'm currently reading the neghbor's copy of Brisingr, the third book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle (which was once a trilogy, but he decided he needed to split the last, massive volume in two).  It's a good fantasy, well-written for a kid who was 15 when he started, 19 when the first book was finished, and is probably 24 now.  Sure, there are some Tolkein parallels, but post-Tolkein, what fantasy that involves elves, dragons, and dwarves doesn't?  Yeah, some of them are really obvious, too, but he has an interesting magical system going, so I'll forgive.

It's stuuuupeeeeeed, but I'm worried about Professor Messyhead, aka. David Nykl.  He hasn't updated his blog for more than a month.  I should be worried about my real friends, right, not some actor.  It's just that, every week or sooner, my internet friends update, and that tells me they haven't been killed by swine flu or hit by a meteor.  My family keeps in touch.  My friends are always around.  Hells, even MCR and Dr. Hewlett twitter all the time to show that they're still alive and kicking.  Not so my beloved Czech hobbit.  I hope he's just busy and still okay.  I've been thinking about him a lot, since one of the characters in my slowly-progressing book is based on him.  I'm such an idiot fangirl.

Working on a spiritual thing for myself, a writing.  I started it to keep my mind off the scary things happening in the 'verse.  (Pandemic, anyone?  Economic collapse?)

All vamped out after watching four more vampire movies.  I've switched to werewolves.  I'm looking forward to Blood and Chocolate, and Silver Bullet, and Nightwatch.
