Speeding through fandoms like there's no tomorrow . . . and maybe there isn't

You know , I love and hate my obsessions, in a way.  Whenever a new one comes up, I feel really bad focusing on that and "abandoning" the old.  I rarely truly "abandon" a fandom, though.  It just seems to get added to the mix, usually.  (Except for ones that just got crazy and unrecognizable, like the WWF, which was still called that back in 2000 when I stopped watching, or Christopher Lambert, back in HS, where the fans misconstrued something I said so badly that I didn't wanna show my face there again.)  I'm watching SGA, still and really pleased over MCR's new vid, and I'm sure I'll be just as squee-ful when their new album comes out.  But what with us finishing up all the SGA box sets, we had "nothing to watch".

We just blazed through Firefly with barely enough time to catch our breath.  Good series.  Had Jewel Staite playing Kaylee, their engineer.  She was in SGA as their head Med officer after Carson died.  (Dr. Keller the super-useless.)  I liked Kaylee way better than Keller.  Favorite male character?  Wash.  Wash is only 50 or 60 different kinds of awesome.  Favorite female character?  Inara.  Chaz and Sarah didn't like her, though.  Though she was stupid for not leaving her life as a Companion to be with Mal.  Hello, that's her profession (and perhaps, her religion) he'd be making her leave.  What could she possibly do except what whe was trained for?  She's a fine negotiator, but that doesn't work nearly as well without the Companion trappings.  Sigh.

Now, we've got Heroes, the first, and soon, second seasons.   Of course, with my "thing" for Asian guys, I love Hiro.  He's such a geek, too, and completely guileless.  He's so adorable, it's hard to see him as "sexy" because of his innocence.  Still, his actor, Masi Oka, is a bit less innocent , smart as effing Hell, and I would never, evar kick him out of bed.

Behold the d'aaaaaawwwww:

LOL, Masi!!!

My real love (lust)on the show, though, is Dr. Mohinder Suresh, played by Sendhil Ramamurthy (who, incidentally, is Jay Chandrasekhar of Broken Lizard's {the Super Trooper guys} cousin. ) .  Ye gods, that's a mouthful, but he's an eyeful, too.  he's studying the people who have powers, trying to find them all.  He's also trying to find the superhuman that killed his father, who originated the theory that the powers were the next stage in human evolution.
I'd do something nasty to him . . . in a good way, of course.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Whitest teeth evar.  Or, it could just be the contrast with that dark skin.  Anywaaaay, *ahem*

Masi and Sendhil together.

The first season is well worth checking out.  I've heard lots of bitching about the second and third seasons going on, but I'm not going to pass judgment until I see them.  Plus, a lot of comic book fans can be really picky at times.  I plan on rolling with the changes as they come.  I also actually like both major female characters, which can be hard to do.

Plus, I <3 the cast.  This is the tightest-knit, most affectionate group of actors I've seen since the cast of LOTR.  Seriously.  They get so up in each other's grills so often, it's hard not to love.
