Writer's Block: Seven

Kidding.  You are bloody kidding, right?   LUST.  I have an overactive libido.  I'm probably lusting after someone right now.  Oh, wait, lemme check . . . yup.  You know, the deadly sins that had to do with thoughts always seemed to me like a stringent social control.  Especially lust.  You see, see understanding the value of industry (vs sloth), of tolerance (vs. anger and envy), of humility (vs. pride), of temperance and appreciating what you have (vs. greed & gluttony) all make sense to me.  But lust?  Isn't it just a strong sexual attraction?  It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be driven to break hearts or rape someone.  Ever since I learned sex wasn't a bad thing, I couldn't understand why anyone would think those kind of thoughts a sin.  They're just thoughts until you act.  And yet, for having them, I still refer to myself as a "pervert", no matter how natural I feel it is to be attracted to someone.  I think a lot of religious views on sexuality can really do odd things to people's heads.
