Mandy's Five

Nov 18, 2009 04:24

Today is the five year anniversary of your death, Mandy.

I love your words. I love your music. I love your poetry. I love your sincerity. I love your awesome and scary depth. I love the way you could look at me or anyone else and say 1,000 words with your eyes without ever voicing a single one. I love your talent on and off the stage. I love your integrity and your loyalty. I love your bravery and your poise. I love your grace. I love that you had a consciousness inside you that was so rich and alive that you knew truths people will take well into their next lives to figure out (if they've earned it). You were worthy of the truth, and you had earned it. Your only error was in not having anyone to share that truth with, and what fault is that of yours? How could you share that with any of us being that we were so blind, so self-involved, and so lifeless on the surface (and some below)?

You have made it possible for so many people to ask the bigger questions. You have made it possible for so many people to seek out the real truth and move towards a higher evolution. You have made it possible for others to access freedom and work diligently toward a light that we can’t always see but that we trust is there. I hope to meet you there. I hope to meet you in that dimension where we are both free and making music again.

Remember playing “Burning the Prettiest Thing Ever” till our fingers hurt with my Dove 6-string and your Fender strat? Remember leaving our guitars on the deck and discovering that the sprinklers had washed away the ink on the dove's wing making it pure white? Remember how we laughed it off and played better the next day than we had the night before? Let’s pick up where we left off. Let’s bring that music, that light, that love, that laughter, that presence, that humility, that grace, that peace, that authentic power, that connection, that trust, that belief, that wisdom, that innocence, and that melody back out into the Universe for this: the most important performance--the one we’ve been rehearsing together in my dreams. Here's to you Mandy, and the life that will be returned to you. Here's to burning the truth on steel strings for those who have ears to hear.

Love and Light,
J.
