Went to the Room of One's Own bookstore reception/readings. That store is larger than I explored last year. I had eyes only for the sf/f then, I admit. Poked around a bit more this time. I'll probably go back when it's less crowded. Or just buy from them in the dealer's room.
I had also been wondering where the reading would be in there. I thought it would be quite crowded.. what with all the, y'know.. books.
It turns out they have a secret room!
But I shouldn't tell you any more. Or it won't be much of a secret.
Met up with Clarion classmate,
keyan-bowes, and three of our instructors. Readings were good. There was a chapbook out by Aqueduct Press with pieces by both GoHs (Ellen Klages and Geoff Ryman, btw) as well as interviews with them. 150 print run. I bought #13. They were signing after the reading, but I went with a group to dinner. I figure to make it to SignOut this year, since I'm not leaving until Tuesday.
As for dinner, I believe the restaurant's name was Husmus... but maybe I've got that wrong, because I ordered the hummus. Husmus, hummus, Husmus, hummus. Turkish/Mediterranean fare.
We talked about Clarion and writing and books.
Wiscon has begun.
