My ear hurts again. I went to the health center and this "doctor" said sometimes diabetics can get ear infections that make their whole faces swell up. What a stupid bitch. Then, when I mentioned a slight shortness of breath, she went through a list of the most serious complications associated with diabetes. Apparently my kidneys are failing, and I have heart disease. All this found from a stethoscope and a checklist. And to think, I thought it was just overexertion. Oh the marvels of modern medicine. I want my $20 back.
I need a job.
I also need a place to wear cowboy boots. I think my sister is set on getting me boots for graduation. In her view, it seems everyone should have a pair because you just never know. Except, I think that I do know...
Maybe I need a job where I can wear cowboy boots. Suggestions? Anyone?
side note: When I was at the health center, the nurse entered and asked "how are you doing today?" I wanted to say, "oh, I'm doing great" since it seemed like the polite response. However, I wasn't sure if this would be inappropriate as I wouldn't be there if all was really fine. So, instead, I opened my mouth to say great and then just paused and sat there with my mouth open and nothing coming out. It was very awkward. Even now, I'm not sure what I was suppose to say. It's not like the nurse cares to hear my complaints. She just needs a pulse and blood pressure. Maybe I should have responded, "not too bad" as really things could be a lot worse. Why am I still thinking about this?
