As is (apparently) customary, here's a list of people and things I'm thankful for:
1. My mom and dad and my brothers Jack and James and Colin. Noone would accuse our family of being too sentimental and open with our feelings, but I love you all more than you'll ever know.
2. My friends Dany, Selene, Rachel and Dawn. We've already established that all of us are lousy friends, what with the never calling unless something comes up, but nobody has funner and crazier friends in this world. Thanks for always keeping me guessing and being an endless source of entertainment when we do come together.
3. Wayne. Aside from being a pretty good boyfriend, you're so much fun to hang out with and I'm thankful for that. Your laid-backness is just what I needed. And even if we end up breaking up, you're one of the few boyfriends I had (have?) I wouldn't mind remaining friends with.
4. Brian; thank you for hiring me and being a reasonable boss. When I first met you I thought you were a grumpy old man and would make me suffer. Well, you do make me suffer at times but I understand where you're coming from, and you do acknowledge hard work and I love you even more for sometimes sending me home early or telling me to rest the next day because I deserved it. You're a good boss and you have my respect. I would tell this to your face but you've made one minor mistake and refused to renegotiate my salary. Still, I'm thankful that You are my boss and not Susan on the third floor.
5. My neighborhood. I love that you still can't decide if you want to be an old school, crappy Queens neighborhood or bring yourself up to the level of the rest of Astoria. Fancy thrift stores and Starbucks and Lowe's one year and crappy hair salons and record stores the next. Oh, and bakery owner guy: I don't know if you really are a high ranking gangster or those are just rumors and you're just a funny and short tempered Italian. But in case you are a criminal, please leave the bakery in trusted hands when the FBI inevitably puts you in jail on some RICO charge. Loving the fresh and warm bread every morning.
6. Bella the cat. Thanks for keeping me company and putting up with me when I'm alone and moody. You know what I'm talking about.
7. And finally, my F-List. You have no idea how many times a day I'll see something and immediately think of you. Like a tranny will always remind me of Sonja and when I see someone with an Obama t-shirt I'll think of Ashley and just the other day, I thought of
random_wtf (what is your name, by the way?) when me and a friend were talking about Scarlett Johansson. In any event, I may not show it but more often than not, I'm a loner. And reading your entries and chatting some of you on AIM keeps me company. And I value it and am thankful for it. *hugs you all*
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!
