I'm doing a fund raiser for a sweet little boy, close in age to my Jacob, who lives near us. His name is Parker Hodson, and you can read the blog his mom, Tammy, keeps on his medical condition at Praying for Parker. To give a brief synopsis of some of his medical needs: Parker has Down Syndrome, spinal cord problems, bowel issues (he's had several surgeries and now has a colostomy) and been diagnosed with failure to thrive. He is close to 3 years old and less than 20 pounds. The insurance company is trying to wiggle out of a lot of commitments, and even when they do pay up, Parker's family is totally overwhelmed by their copays.
Melody at Slurping Life and I are working together on a fund raiser for Parker. She is calling hers a Love Offering that is basically a raffle next week with some really cool prizes. Mine is an online Usborne Book Party where my whole commission (25%) will go to Parker's Special Needs Medical Fund. A book purchase of any size will earn you a ticket to Slurping Life's raffle. A book purchase of $20 or more will earn you a ticket to the Grand Prize - a huge digital camera package.
