Anniversary and Weekend

So today is Lacey's and my one year anniversary. We had a great time even though Rita messed up Lacey's plans a little. So she planned this great trip and I didn't know where we were going until we almost got there. We went to Natchez and stayed in a little cabin outside of town. The place was great with a bedroom, an attic, kitchen (with everything), and a little living room with tv, dvd, and satellite.

So Friday, we leave and drive down there. We find the place, explore, cuddle, what have you. Then we decide to go into town and get some groceries and find dinner. We make it back and watch a movie (American Pie) and then we are headed to bed. The weather is a little rainy but not bad. So just as we are going to bed the power goes out. It's creepy. In the woods, no power, cell phones don't work, the house phone is not working, etc. So we end up not sleeping because it's scary and it's HOT! No air circulating whatsoever.

Saturday we wake up (still no power) and take showers. The whole cabin is VERY RUSTIC. I loved it. Anyway, we go into town and explore. See some antebellum houses, go to the big cemetery, etc. Behind the visitor's center, there was the HUGH ravine covered in kudzu. Okay so it's very windy by this time and watching the wind move the kudzu was really cool. We go to the mall and finally for dinner, Lacey takes me to King's Tavern. For those of you who aren't familiar with the place, it's one of the most haunted places in America. It's a restaurant and they sometimes rent out the room upstairs. The food is really good too. There are different stories as to why Madaline haunts the place but she's always messing with people there. I didn't see her and neither did Lace, but we did go exploring and got very creeped out upstairs in the bedroom by ourselves. The place is all wood and the windy was really kicking so it made it very creaky. Anyway, when we were done we went back to the cabin hoping the power was back on. It wasn't so we decided to just pack up and leave. We drove back home and got here around 1 AM.

Here is were the weekend gets crazy. There was a flash flood warning here at 4:30. The wind was so bad that it picked up our plastic chairs on the porch and moved them several feet. We are on the second floor of a four apartment building. The building is just outside the city limits of Cleveland and we are kind of in a ditch (our drive way goes down from the road). When we woke up this morning it was like a lake out there. I'm going to post pics soon. Today, has been good since it was our "official" anniversary day. Lacey was disappointed that her plans got messed up, but I told her I had fun and we would go back to that cabin later. It would have been a great place, if it had power.

We've been lazy today, making muffins and banana sandwiches, watching movies and playing UNO. I got a permanent job tutoring at a junior high. I will tutor everyday (7 periods with one off). I will have 3-5 kids and I will teach them the school districts objectives in math. I don't get paid that much, but it's something. Anyway, I'm going to go and get ready for school. Take care all and when my baby reads this (not that I haven't told her a hundred times all ready), I love you and thank you for the wonderful weekend. Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!
