Go watch that movie. I am not fucking around. It makes Catch Me If You Can look like, to put it bluntly, a movie with leonardo dicaprio in it.
So funny, and romantic, and funny, and sad, and amazing. Jim Carrey and Ewan Mcgregor are awesome. It's weird cuz Jim's all old n' stuff and has a terrible haircut. (Just because I had a crush on him as a kid I am judgmental. Also cuz I recently watched the number 23 again and he was hella buff n sexy in that. Yes, Jim Carrey, shh, I know none of you agree) But AAHHHHHH!!!!!!
Olivia keeps accidentally getting me really into things. Like llamas. With hats on.
Since I'm here I should say something journally.
My friend Jason's house was driven through by a guy on drugs, I got to help him fix the hole left behind by the car. Actually, now that I think about it, that's not what we did at all. We actually knocked down the entire section of wall above and around the hole, and then we took sledgehammers to the inside walls and gutted the rest of the room, so Jason can insulate it. The debris was about 2 and a half feet thick, when we were done decimating. Then we shoveled all that and carted it into his back yard to be dealt with ..... later.
So, mended story, Jason had a hole in his wall and I went over and helped him completely destroy his house. It was amazing. I love sledgehammers. And shovels. And hammers, and crowbars, and thick gloves and slabs of concrete and the sound of broken glass and AH! It all makes me so happy.
Jason told me that I was the best person he knew in the state for the job we did, and that felt good. He didn't shrug at letting me do half or more of the work. He didn't ask if I was sure I could handle it if he saw me lifting a garbage can full of concrete and plywood. That was easily the best part of the day. With that one vote of confidence I was on top of the world. Honestly felt better about myself than I have in two years.
Jim Carrey being gay, Juli being a construction worker, the time being 8 a.m., clearly the hour for grocery shopping. Maybe helping Jason fix his truck this afternoon, boyfriend's choir concert tonight, ice skating tomorrow. Feeling awesome about things.
In the random rubble I found a plain silver ring that fit me perfectly. Jason said he'd found it and that I could have it. It's very pretty, I think I've found the only ring I'll ever want to wear.
g'day, LJ
