From the "I paid for what?" department...
The old warrant is paid off. I asked for and received a receipt by mail, which came on Saturday. As is to be expected, not all of my money went to court costs and actual warrant fees. But some of the charges listed are just silly. The breakdown of the $325 expenditure is as follows-
Automation fee: 20.00 (Given that I had to mail them a money order because they can't process credit cards over the phone, not sure exactly what was automated, but okay)
Magistrate facilities fee: 20.00 (Self-explanatory but still annoying. The legal version of Ticketmaster's handling charge)
Bench Warrant fee: 100.00
Correction fee: 40.00 (Also known as I'm sorry, and I won't do again fee?)
Traffic Safety fee: 6.00 (Slush fund for some state rep's pet project)
Judicial Education fee: 4.00 (Because Judges have student loans too!)
DV Treatment fee: 10.00 (If DV stands for Disabled Veterans, then I have no problem with this part.)
Brain Injury fee: 10.00 (WTF? No, really now. What the Fuck?)
Fine: 115.00
