A quick rant about Castle, copied from another forum.
Andrew Marlowe (the show's head writer) needs to go watch Eureka for how to get a lead couple together and not lose the show. Sheriff Jack and Allison finally got together after 4 years of unrequited loving on his part. Did the show tank? Nope. They just moved the tension to how do 2 smart, capable, professional people manage their personal feelings for each other in a professional setting. First of all, they (gasp) talked when it seemed to be a problem. There were other tensions like moving in together. Which would be huge on Castle since there is such disparity in living styles and income. Also how does Alexis cope with not having her dad full time? All kinds of things to explore while they work the COTW (Case Of The Week).
You know it's bad when people can honestly say "Look at how Eureka does it better!" in regards to anything.
People talking about the writers doing commentary on a scene where Beckett thinks Castle's been blown up by a bomb:
Much as I thought I'd love a commentary for Cops and Robbers, I can just imagine it now: "And here we have Stana knocking it out of the park. When that bomb goes off, it's like the bottom just fell out of her world and you can see that all over her face. No dialogue needed...and here we have another great bit of facial acting by Stana when Kate sees Rick alive and well. She nailed the look of someone brimming over with love for this man; the lapel touch was the icing on the cake. This was powerful stuff. This was what fans wanted. This is what they were waiting for. And then we refused to give them anything else for the rest of the season because we're a bunch of fucking cowards."
...Oh god. Fuuuuuuck! I just realized that there is more subtext to Dean & Castiel's non-relationship than there is to freaking Rick & Kate's. That's just fucking sad.
Most of all though, I miss the banter. This show used to be silly. Even when it was dark and morbid, the characters were witty and intelligent. Now there's one, maybe two lines that make me laugh per episode, and it's just sad. I miss the times I had to pause and rewind the show after I missed lines from laughing.
Marlowe, Y U NO WRITE GOOD SHOW?
