Okay, so I haven't updated in forever. Sue me. I've been stepping out on Livejournal with a way better social media site. www.fitocracy.com

It's like D&D for the gym. Exercises are assigned point values and doing them earns you XP. They run weekly challenges such as "Hold off the invading army! (push 20 tons of weight in a week.)" or "Carry injured soldiers to safety by logging a mile of Farmer's Walk- minimum 30lbs."
Is there a purpose to it? Of course not. Is it fun to work out and come home and log your exercises? Yes.
In the site in closed beta and therefore only a fraction of its planned awesomeness? Also yes.

In other news, my shift manager turned 21 today. Since we closed together (at midnight) I would be the first person to see him on his birthday. Naturally, I couldn't pass on that, so I stopped at a liquor store to pick up something.

Went in, asked for "A fifth of Crown". Was pointed to the 750mL bottles (the ones that come in purple bags that are inside purple boxes) and went
"Uh, no. I want a fifth."
Lady looked at me like I was stupid, and said that's what that was. So then I said,
"No, sorry, a 200mL bottle."
"Oh, that's a ---" and then she turned away at that point so I didn't actually hear what she said, thank you deafness.
Anyway I smiled and paid her, but in my head I was thinking,
"Oh, I see the problem. I was speaking English, while you were speaking stupid."

Because really now... A fifth is not 750mL. A fifth is 200mL, because that is one-fifth of a liter. How do you work in a liquor store and not understand that? I'd hate to think what I'd have received had I asked for a 40.
