I keep wanting to put off posting until I am feeling better, but that isn't happening very fast. I do have a load of updates though so I might as well post.
First off, t and I have joined Twitter which is sort of a mini-blog site. It's not like LJ in that there are no comments or anything and entries are limited to about a sentence, so it's just "what I am doing at the moment". We use it to keep up with each other during the day and so t can know when I am awake or not. We'd love to hook up to anyone else who is on there, we're thesickchick and naughtypixie.
Secondly, I busted my ass to get to the genealogy show this past weekend and it was worth it. I don't have the energy to write about it but I am so glad I went. It's my first time out of the house in a month that wasn't related to a doctor's appointment.
Thirdly, my two kilos of beads have arrived. Huzzah. They're not as good quality as I had hoped but it's still going to be a lot of fun using them.
Finally and most importantly I had my med change appointment at the neurology hospital yesterday. Top priority is to get some sleep so I'm going to try Remeron/Mirazapine at a low dose to see if that will help with anxiety and insomnia. Then I got approved for Lyrica/pregabalin which may help with fatigue and will help with pain. (If it doesn't it's back to Neurontin/Gabapentin which does work for pain.) I was also asked to join the POTS research study which is a good thing IMO. So in sum, I have to run everything plus my growing allergy problems past my GP on Tuesday then I could be feeling better in as little as two weeks. *FIINGERS SO CROSSED!*
I am really worried about the weight gain with Remeron but as my consultant points out if I can get the energy to exercise I could wind up better off anyway. But I do need to find a lot of low-cal snacks to be prepared for the increased appetite. t would say that's probably a good thing as I don't actually eat much, so maybe I can get into the 5 meal a day habit which is better for energy levels anyway. It's just a pity that I dislike raw veg else that would be an ideal snack. But we'll just have to see. Maybe I should get one of those teensy beer fridges for the bedroom as our only fridge is so tiny there isn't space to horde a lot of fruit and veg.
But for now I am still too exhausted to sit up so I'm back to lying down. I hope to catch up with everyone when I can, but it will probably be a week or so in the future. Best wishes to everyone.
