Holidays with the Family
Geesh, I've been home for only a day and I am bored out of my mind. Right now I am in the kitchen with the sound of my mom pounding on nuts in the back ground to put on a pie. How did I survive 18 years at this home? I just don't understand. However, my mom did me a bottle of vodka. How awesome is that?!?! I guess she figures that I am going to be 21 in a few months so there is nothing that she can do. So to kill the pain of being with my family for Thanksgiving, I am drinking anything I can get my hands on including strawberry tequila (which I might say is quite good, and my aunt had 2 shoots of it compared to my 1).
So there is a little preview of what my Thanksgiving has been like so far. What I don't understand is what is the big deal about Thanksgiving? I'm not a huge fan of the holiday. I don't hate it as much as halloween, but I'm not a huge fan. I am a big fan of Christmas though. My family is so much better around that time I guess. All Thanksgiving is about is eating the Turkey and figuring out what store they are going to go to the next day at 5AM. If people say they don't like Christmas because of the commercialism but Thanksgiving is ok because there isn't any...I don't know what they are talking about. Thanksgiving is just as commercialized as Christmas.
