And no, it isn't
pikachuashnat's fault.
My
single comic panel from a as-of-now unfinished comic with a Dalek that has been christened Jim by a dA commenter has been amusing me at the responses, because it is part of one big piece of EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION and the panel I uploaded is easily the most overdramatic, but the amount of people just saying "YOU'RE MAKING ME FEEL SAD FOR A DALEK WHYYYYY ;__;" (because I am evil manipulative artist who has a horrible sense of humour) is just hilarious to me.
I had been pondering over this lately, as my resolve to keep Daleks as evil nasty bastards in my mind unless for humour purposes (because it's fun to see Daleks act like idiots, I don't care what anybody says) has been worn away, wondering just why the heck so many people found them adorable. Then I got this
comment on the comic panel. I. died. laughing. Because honestly, with some of the people I've seen around, it's true. >.>
(The comic is as of yet unfinished because all of the other comics, including commissions, do not contain SO MANY NURNIES, and after spending the first half of the year binging on J5 art I am glad to draw organic things not covered in insane details, and after inking that panel I was like "OMG I CANNOT DO THIS QUICK ENOUGH I BETTER NOT MENTION IT TO MY DAD YET." [Because since it is inspired by him, it is for him.] Of course, I have just finished a fandom commission including a crapton of grass and water and a fairly nice sky, BUT IT WAS FOR GULF COAST AID SO THAT'S MY EXCUSE YEAH.)
...Speaking of which, I need to finish it up while I can now that my wrist is fairly recovered. *creeps away*
