Summer and Lightning Part...whatever
LOL, oh goodie, I was right, not only musical artists like Jeff Lynne get criticized if they OMG START DOING MUSIC IN DIFFERENT STYLES THAN WHAT MADE THEM POPULAR, but so do online artists.
Yes, LOLfurry drama, but the fact this pretty much mirrors one of the things I DON'T LIKE about the ELO fandom* and leaves a bitter taste in my mouth because HEAVEN FORBID an artist shouldn't dick around and experiment and draw whatever the heck they want to for fun or a musician do whatever they want to music-wise because they're rich enough from decades of music to afford it. At least I'm not LOL ONLINE FAMOUS enough to be subjected to this. (Well, okay, I have a little bit...and I STILL rarely do OMG EPIC FUR SHADING oh wells!)
If anyone besides someone who is paying me to do art tells me what to do they call all just bite my big white ass because life is short, and for an artist working to get into art college and animation, time for doing art that you want to do for fun is EVEN SHORTER.
Here's something silly:
My dad and I were pretty much geeking out over various things all dinnertime. We were talking about Doctor Who and he said that although since he's been watching NuWho as BBCAmerica has been playing it and was spoiled on the subject due to having seen Daleks in Mathatten, he mentioned how the Dalek+ stair problem had been removed to which I immediately replied: "OH the R2 rockets!" I'm not sure what looks sillier flying, R2-D2 or Daleks, but oh well.
Anyway, I came downstairs and before I turned back on the computer I was thinking "Well, going back earlier in history aside, stairs aren't as big a deal, we have ramps and elevators..."
To which my brain said: 'TELL ME WHAT THE DALEKS SAY WHEN THEY USE THE ELEVATOR!!" (If you imagined that in a GIR voice, you got it just about right.)
Me: *groan* "ELEVATE! ELEVATE!" *promptly smacks self* "I deserved that."
Part of me is afraid that even though my dad said he wanted a Dalek, I think it may be my mum who gets one first because she's been watching enough Who with my dad and on her own during the day that she's now saying "DAA-LEK" and "EXTERMINATE" in her best rendition of the voice, filtered through her Filipino accent. Oh dear.
Haaaaaaay the sun seems to finally be coming out for the end of the day! MR BLUE SKY, PLEASE TELL US WHY, YOU HAD TO HIDE AWAY FOR SO LONG (SO LONG); WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?!
