Step 1: license a series from a genre known to do poorly in America.
Step 2: split the series in half and release each half seperately, rather than the conventional full-series/season box set. Make sure to do it when the economy is in the shitter!
Step 3: Wait three months after the second half is released, and then ANNOUNCE that the second season will NOT be licensed, because (SURPRISE!) nobody bought the first one.
Step 3.5: Watch the fanbase flip a shit.
