back so soon?

Yup.  I just got back to the USA this afternoon.  It took a little over 4 hours to take me from one world to another.  Its so crazy.  This morning I was in Mexico City and tonight I am going to sleep in my own bed.  The journey through the airport was such a mind bending experience.  You arrive and you handle everything in Spanish, bag checking, security, saying goodbye to Carlos, which was probably the single hardest thing Ive had to do in a very long time.  Then you get on the plane, and people are talking to you in Spanish and English and you don't really know what your supposed to do.  People would ask me questions in English and Id respond in Spanish, like an instinct.  I didnt even realize I was doing it until afterwards.  Then I got off the plane and talked to everyone in English, and then I saw my mom and little sister and step dad, whom I hadnt seen in months.  My mom was excitedly waving an american flag to welcome me home.  It seems like I just switched my life around so fast.  How quick and unofficial everything was.  So now Im back in the US, throwing toilet paper in the toilet, drinking tap water, feeling safe while driving on the roads, paying too much for gas and food, doing everything in English, sleeping in my enormous room, playing with my puppy/miniature pony of a dog.  Ive definitely fallen in love with Mexico over the past semester, and its going to take some work to readjust to life in the states, I imagine.  But my family and some of my best friends live on this side of the world.  So for the next little while, I'll be busy catching up with them and slowly regathering the old life that I left behind in January.
I think live-journalers that this is my last entry for a while.  Ill see you soon.
