Definitions of friend:
noun: a person you know well and regard with affection and trust
noun: an associate who provides assistance

So lets think about this. Does it say that a friend is a person to use and abuse? No. Does it say that a friend is a person to take advantage of? Not quite. How about someone to break down and make feel bad? No, not that either.

Lets recap... Friends, acquaintances, admirers, allies, boosters, champions, confederates, protagonists, quakers, supporters: these are people who contribute to the fulfillment of a need or furtherance of an effort or purpose. In other words, not someone who pisses people off for enjoyment, not someone , condescending, spiteful or out to get people.

Where to go from here? Well for a start how about being genuinely friendly. Life is short, so do me a little favor and stop to take a minute to think about the effect you are having on folks. I don't know about you but for me, it's not worthwhile to do things that will hurt people. You'll end up old and wrinkly and alone. For most of us the wrinkly part in inevitable, but wouldn't u rather be wrinkly with friends than wrinkly alone?
