dude. read this article: http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/Story?id=3119381&page=1

my friend told me that some lawyer was suing a dry cleaner store for $67 million for a lost pair of pants.

$67 mill is utterly ridiculous. i can't believe the nerve of this asshole. this has nothing to do with the fact that the sued are koreans (i really couldn't give a rat's ass- i don't have an ounce of korean pride in me), but this bothers me because my dad and some of my uncles own dry cleaner stores around the bay area, and if this lawyer wins his case, it'll give tons of people free reign to pull this shit on my family. whenever my dad lost or damaged an article of clothing, he'd call me to find an exact replica or find out its monetary value, apologize to the customer for any inconvenience, and repay said customer with money or a new pair of clothes.

this amount is just bullshit. it's like that one person who sued mcdonalds because he burned his mouth over a hot cup of coffee, or that other person who sued some dryer appliance because he nearly died of asphyxiation when he placed himself in the machine and closed the door. or what about the man who sued a woman for breastfeeding in public? thank goodness that loser didn't win. geez- i'm glad it's perfectly legal for women to feed their children.

i know there are good lawyers out there who are generally in the interest of serving the public because they have ideals about what's right and wrong. then there are THESE chumps who really piss me off.

i hope that guy loses his license, gets fired as a judge, and lives with this shame for the rest of his pathetic little life.
