i honestly don't get one of my friends. she's been in the carribbean for med school, yet instead of focusing on her upcoming rounds in chicago, she's constantly hounding me on gtalk about what i know about the latest fashion trends and whatnot, updating me on the state of her hair, or asking me if she should cut her bangs...
my dear pet, please focus on your studies. your future patients would appreciate that immensely. i don't want you to have malpractice suits slapped on you.
also, she's somewhat obsessed with finding me a boyfriend- last week i got this random email from this guy she says is interested in me.
Hi Julie,
I had received your email address from Tulie so I
thought I send you an email to say "hi." Tulie tells
me that you are a big anime fan. What animes do you
like. I hear that in the SD area there is this huge
anime convention that people get all dressed up for
(in anime costumes). Is it as good as people tell
me?
I'll keep this short so I won't bore you :P. Hope to
hear back from you soon.
yes, my roommate's name is tulie. tulie and julie. and we have last names that sound the same. actually, we had a third roommate, and her last name was a variation of mine... getting off the subject... ack...
anyhoo, he's 33, and he's 5'5". as in practically 3" shorter than me. and why does he sound so... dorky in a bad way? reading that email offended me for reasons beyond my control. and, i mean, he doesn't even know how to use punctuation marks correctly!!! also, shouldn't one generally ASK if it's okay to divulge email information, rather than hand it out freely like some pamphlet for erectile dysfunction or something? this guy SOUNDS harmless, but my friend began telling me that he's the type of person who would fly out to meet someone.
hurr, guhh, WHAT?!! sorry, but that's kinda scary, if you ask me.
the old roommate must die. she's the same person who set me up with mike the "flyboy" geekazoid, and i don't think i'll ever live that one down. i'm still trying to erase the memories from my most awkward first date ever. *flops*
her gestures are kind, and i know she means well, but when she tries hooking me up with people that i'm the least bit attracted to based on hearsay, well... she doesn't know me as well as she thinks she does. it's quite disparaging, especially since we've been friends for a decade though i've known her since the 7th grade.
date, shmate. phooey.
in other news, i have no other news. just busy at work. work and ebay are my life.
